The edges of the panels are diamond polished to a clear glassy finish.

The edges of the panels are diamond polished to a clear glassy finish.

Print Finishes

Transparent Finish - Available on Acrylic Prints and Block Prints

The transparent acrylic print is surprisingly enough, slightly transparent. Any area of an image, which is white, will be transparent. The print relies on a white/near white wall (in which it should be hung) to act as a white background allowing any print detail on the acrylic print to stand out.

Transparent acrylic prints produce a fantastic effect, allowing light to interact with the image. (See images on the product page). The transparent style does suit some images more than others, i.e. images made up of a lot of white or light colors with little tonal differences are usually better suited to the opaque finish (with white backing).

N.B. Transparent prints are suitable for hanging on white or near white walls.

Opaque Finish - Available on Acrylic Prints and Block Prints

The Opaque acrylic print is backed in white ink making it opaque. The print displays an image just as a standard photograph does, it is not transparent and therefore can be hung on any wall color.

Images/photos made up of large areas of white or light colors are more suitable for the Standard style.

Where can Acrylic Prints be hung?

Acrylic prints can be used in any room, including bathrooms, kitchens and swimming pool rooms. They can also be used outside and are weather proof.

Hanging instructions

The prints will last a lifetime if looked after correctly, but they are delicate, so be very careful when unpacking and hanging them. Make sure to pay special attention not to scratch either faces of the acrylic or knock any of its corners or edges. Do not remove the protective filming from the face of the acrylic print until it is hung in position on the wall.

Acrylic prints are hung using four polished chrome supports located in the four corners of the acrylic.

The supports are made up of two parts, the base of the support is screwed into the wall, the second part goes through the hole in the corner of the acrylic and screws into the base. The acrylic is sandwiched between the two parts of the fixing, supporting the print slightly away from the wall.

Step 1

Use the template supplied to locate the hole positions required for the fixings.

Attach the template to the wall in the position in which you want the acrylic print to hang. Be careful to ensure it is level either by using a spirit level or by lining it up parallel with the floor and ceiling.

Step 2

Using a 5mm drill bit, carefully drill four holes in the positions indicated on the template.

Once all four holes are drilled, remove the template.

Step 3

Insert a wall plug in each of the four holes. (Standard wall plugs supplied)

Step 4

Unscrew the supports into two parts.

Screw the base of each support into the four holes in the wall. (Standard screws supplied)

Step 5

Ideally two people are needed for this stage.

One person, lift the print towards the fixings on the wall being careful to locate the holes in the print against the support bases in the wall. Be careful not to scratch the back of the print against the wall or the supports.

The second person can now place the other part of each fixing through the panel and screw it into its base, sandwiching the print between each part of the supports.

There is a little room for the prints to move around while being supported by the fixings, so if the print is not quite level, slightly loosen the supports and adjust the print until it is level. Then tighten the supports. Finger tight is fine but if you want to tighten the supports further there is a small hole in each support in which an Allen key can be used to tighten them.

If you have an old photo but do not have a scanner, simply take the photo into a photo lab and ask them to scan the image at 300 dpi resolution (as above) and put it on a CD. You will then be able to transfer the image to your computer where you will be able to upload it using the website.
